‘Dofus’ focuses on content and wins

Game: “Dofus”
Platform: PC
Developer: Ankama Studio
Genre: MMORPG
Grade: A

Upon entering the world of “Dofus,” players will realize the game that originated in France does not focus on graphics to make the game what it is. Ankama Studio focuses more on the content of the game to draw in gamers.

“ The anime-style graphics and strategy-based battles make this a good game for anyone who enjoys tactical role-playing games,” Saladdin Khan aka White-hawke, of Toronto, Canada, said.

When players begin the game, they must first set up the character they would like to enter into this new world. There are a total of 11 races to begin with; however, players must carefully choose the race they want because each has their own strengths and weaknesses.

“ Players have a lot of freedom with their characters from their clothing, to the guild that they belong to is totally up to them,” Dave Crisp aka Crizpy of Lincoln, England, said.

The game is set up for anyone to play. For those who just want to have a little fun, but don’t want to pay to play, there is a free version of the game. However, for a small monthly fee, players can experience the vast world of “Dofus.” Since the game is online, players are able to interact with other players from all around the world.

“ Dofus” is very different from other MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) in that it is a little more offbeat and carries a reliance on community and group goals. Unlike “World of Warcraft” or “Everquest,” players must rely on the help of others to continue advancing through the world of “Dofus.”

Anyone looking for a new addiction may want to step into “Dofus.”
