David Boone returns to Fargo
For more than six years, David Boone has entertained bars and coffeehouses in the Northwest and in Missoula, Mont.
Boone will perform in Fargo at 8:30 p.m. April 12 and 13 at the Hotel Donaldson in downtown Fargo.
With his solid folk-tradition sound, Boone asks listeners to follow his personal journey, through his highs and lows in life.
Some have said seeing and listening to David Boone perform live is like stepping into his personal diary. When Boone performs, he holds nothing back.
His latest CD release, “Hard Enough to Bend,” may catch fans off guard. Although it still has Boone’s typical lyrics and poetry, the overall style has slightly changed.
Listening to the album is reminiscent of artists Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, or even recently, Jack Johnson and Counting Crows.
Boone is currently performing with Seattle percussionist James Wasem. The two create a sound of intricate — yet balanced — sound and rhythm, striking a chord with folk rock roots.
He can be humorous at times and philosophical other times, but Boone is poetry put to music — a voice for the modern soul.
