This week’s entertaining events
It’s Friday and the weekend is in sight. Here’s a look at the events going on in Fargo-Moorhead this week:
Today
The NDSU Division of Fine Arts presents a concert by singer/songwriter
Chuck Suchy and bluegrass band Tangled Roots tonight at 7:30 in the
Festival Concert Hall. Tickets are $5 for students and can be purchased
at the NDSU box office.
DJ Skribble will also be performing at the Venue starting at 10 p.m. If those options don’t suit you, MU Live will take place as usual from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the lower level of the Memorial Union.
Saturday
If you have guests here for Family Weekend you can show them what
a real football team looks like. NDSU plays Northeastern at 6:30
p.m. Put on your yellow shirt and head to the Fargodome for a great
game.
Sunday
The Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre is starting out its 2006 season
with “Don’t Hug Me,” a musical about a slick salesman
who convinces a bar owner to purchase a karaoke machine. The show
starts at 2 p.m. and tickets are $9 for students. (701) 235-6778.
Monday
For anyone interested in philosophy, the Eclectic Book Club will
be discussing “The Trial and Death of Socrates: Four Dialogues” at
Barnes & Noble in south Fargo. The discussion begins at 7 p.m.
Tuesday
Swing dance lessons will be provided at 8:30 p.m. at the Avalon Events
Center in downtown Fargo, followed by open dancing at 9:15. Disc
jockey Johnny Fargo provides the music. Cost is $4 for students with
ID.
Wednesday
Campus Attractions will be showing “Stick It” at the
Century Theater in the Memorial Union. The free movie starts at 7
p.m.
Thursday
Anyone interested in photography is invited to the IDA building
on Main Avenue where the Fargo-Moorhead Camera Club will be sponsoring “Climb
Denali: North America’s Highest Peak.” Berlin Nelson
will present the show at 7 p.m.
Friday
Once again, the weekend has almost arrived. Check out the newest
