Harry Potter
Harry Potter, everyone’s favorite wizard, will be making his big return this summer in not one form, but two.
The movie, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” based on the fifth book of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, will be released July 17.
The fun and excitement won’t stop with the movie, however.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is the seventh and final book in the series and will be released July 21.
With a Harry Potter movie and book coming out in the same month, much hype and excitement can be expected from the fanatics.
“The first books and first movie were excellent,” said Ginny Leppart, third grade teacher at Cedar Ridge Elementary. “I know the last installment and movie will be unbelievably popular, as people know this is the end.”
Other Harry Potter enthusiasts are looking forward to seeing their favorite characters in print and on screen this summer.
“Hagrid is my hero,” natural resources management junior Jon Knacke said. “He is known as the funny, comic relief character and it’s always good to have a little touch of humor in a somewhat dark story.”
Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) is just one of the characters who will return as supporting cast in the movie this summer.
Professor Trelawny (Emma Thompson), Professor Lupin (David Thewlis) and Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) will all join Harry in the fight against Lord Voldemort in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.”
The seventh book finds Harry reaching age 17 and therefore earning the right to perform magic outside of school.
Harry will be visiting the remains of his parents’ home in Godric’s Hollow with his two best mates, Ron and Hermione.
Rumors have also spread that an important character in the series will be killed off in the book.
Some rumors claim that the victim will be the main character, Harry Potter.
“I’m really looking forward to the book. I’m hoping that Rowling doesn’t kill Harry off. I’m still hoping that she’ll break down and write a book of his life following Hogwarts,” veterinary technology junior Megan Keller said.
Once again, Harry will face the evil Lord Voldemort in a battle that is sure to be life or death for both of them.
Harry Potter fans, you will not be disappointed.
All others have until mid-July to catch up on the series.
