Wefest’s 25th Anniversary

It’s the 25th anniversary of the most popular country music festival in the mid-west, and this summer’s lineup is filled with outstanding artists.

WE Fest is a three-day festival of music and camping just south of Detroit Lakes, Minn. taking place Aug. 2 to 4.

Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins will be returning to WE Fest after having great success over the past year.

They each have had chart-topping hits and have played to huge audiences.

Newcomers Carrie Underwood, Josh Turner, The Wreckers and Heartland will make their WE Fest debut, representing the future of country music.

John Anderson and Sawyer Brown, the two artists who have played WE Fest the most often in the past, will return this year.

Nine-time Grammy award winner Sheryl Crow will join the artists at WE Fest this year. Crow has recorded with many great country artists in the past year, and she will bring something special to the WE Fest lineup.

Thousands have already purchased tickets and camping permits for this year’s festival, and there are already 16 events and 62 groups dedicated to the festival on Facebook.

WE Fest staff is making numerous improvements on the general admission area for the coming year, including rebuilding the entrances for faster entry and improving the aisles for easier movement.

The staff is even bringing back the General Admission Seating Only section so people who want to bring a lawn chair to sit and watch the show will be able to do so.

There will be better coverage in the general admission area this year as well as adjustments of the sound system and concert screens.

WE Fest is working to improve the concessions and campgrounds as well.
