Detroit murder shocked me
I was catching up on my daily news Sunday morning when I came across a story that stopped me in my tracks. A man from Detroit, Mich., killed and dismembered his wife’s body.
According to the story, they found Tara Grant’s torso in the garage and most of her limbs in a nearby park.
The only suspect was the husband, Stephen Grant, who fled from the home the day the police searched it.
The online story I was reading had links to an interview with neighbors. They said the family had always been happy. They had two children, one boy and one girl, and the whole family would play outside together. He was a stay-at-home dad, and they had horses, a garden and life was pretty awesome.
What I’m wondering is how someone goes from having a happy, well-rounded relationship and family to suddenly killing his wife and removing her limbs?
Because murdering her wasn’t quite enough? He had to remove all her body parts as well to make sure he got his point across.
What gets me the most is they showed pictures of Stephen and Tara, and they both looked like normal, healthy people. Usually someone who commits a crime that horrible looks like they’ve had a rough life so far.
Both Stephen and Tara Grant looked very clean and normal together. It makes me want to believe that he didn’t do it.
They hadn’t found evidence that proved him guilty in the story I read, but he was being held until results were in.
Witnesses had heard the couple fighting about the frequent business trips Tara Grant had to make to Puerto Rico, which could have led him to snap and kill her.
Just because she wasn’t around much doesn’t make it OK for Stephen to kill his spouse because he was upset.
What ever happened to making someone sleep on the couch during a fight?
I have a hard time thinking someone who looks normal could possibly commit such a heinous crime; he just doesn’t fit the stereotype.
They show a clip of Stephen Grant crying about the whole thing and it’s really a heart-wrenching story.
Then again, I try to think about what Tara must have gone through and all the pain she may have felt.
I can’t understand how people let murder become such a common things these days. It seems like the news is filled with story after story of people killing each other over the stupidest things.
I don’t understand how someone could think that it’s his or her right to take someone else’s life away.
Why do those people think they can play God?
I’m starting to wonder if a bulletproof vest is something I should purchase.
It’s scary to think that killing is becoming almost a norm in our society.
