New ideas for a new semester

Student government opens semester with discussion and requests

With fresh ideas and clear minds, student government prepared for another new semester.

Student government met Monday night in the Prairie Rose Room in Memorial Union to discuss committee progress, programs and events and funding requests.

Nicholas Wollan, the new College of Business senator, was appointed during the meeting.

Wollan is a sophomore majoring in accounting. Interviews were conducted for this position during finals week of fall semester.

The finance guideline bill SB-09-07 was also discussed.

The bill deals with temporary organization funding and what processes are available to these organizations during the semester.

Although opinions on the process of how funding would be best provided differed, a senator reminded others that cooperation is imperative to finding the best solution possible.

The finance bill S-09-07 will be further discussed at the finance meeting held at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Congress of Student Organizations and all senators are welcome to attend them meeting and offer input.

A ‘Meet and Greet’ will be held in the student government office on Jan. 26 for students.

Discount cards and deuce stickers will be available at this time.

Thundar will also be present and posing for pictures.
