Meet the Candidates
Montgomery/Michael

Adam Montgomery: Junior in political science (presidential candidate)
Frank Michael: Junior in Natural Resource Management (vice presidential candidate)
Hometowns: Montogomery: West Fargo, N.D.; Michael: Maple Grove, Minn.
Campaign slogan: “Students Serving Students”
Website: www.montgomerymichael.com
What sets them apart: “Having been involved in student government for four years, I have the benefit of seeing what processes have worked or not worked,” Montgomery said. “Both of us have been able to dabble in many areas on campus … it gives us a diverse view.”
Why should students vote for them: “We have the driving force to take our school to the next level, having seen what works and doesn’t work through the past years,” Montgomery said. “We have clear, specific goals,” Michael said.
How will public comment affect the relationships between student government and students: “Extremely positive … leaders need to hear the issues at hand and making them more accessible is always good,” Montgomery said. “If used properly, we can address issues before the problem,” Michael said.
What are your views on the anniversary of the war: “My brother is in Iraq right now … I don’t argue whether the war is right or wrong. If a nation wants something, they have a right to fight for it,” Michael said. “It’s not about the war, it’s about the people.”
What is an important change needed at NDSU: “Scenery … but we do have a wonderful university,” said Montgomery. “The students have a lot of responsibility at NDSU and it is important to keep that drive and student involvement going,” Michael said.
What is your favorite feature about your running mate: “Michael always makes me laugh … he brightens the worst day up,” Montgomery said. “Montgomery is a very smart, driven individual … he does a great job creating vision and challenging ideas,” Michael said.
Reimnitz/Presser

Josh Reimnitz: Junior in mass communication (presidential candidate)
Clara Presser: Junior in vocal performance (vice presidential candidate)
Hometowns: Reimnitz: Bismarck, N.D.; Presser: Grace City, N.D.
Campaign slogan: “DI Pride and Progress”
Website: rpmomentum.com
What sets them apart: “We have a large variety of experiences,” said Reimnitz. “I think our different viewpoints keep a wide perspective on issues. We want to be service-oriented with the community and school.”
Why should students vote for them: “Our passion…we are going to speak to organizations about our motives,” Reimnitz said. “We have experience working with student government and love NDSU,” Presser said.
How will public comment affect the relationships between student government and students: “The change will be completely positive. Especially around budget time, organizations can come to the meeting and speak openly with the entire senate to hear,” said Presser. “It is a check on student government,” said Reimnitz.
What are your views on the anniversary of the war: “I dislike having troops over there but they are doing a good deal of help,” said Presser. “Looking at the broad picture, it will take more than 2-4 year for the economy to get on its feet again. It’s a slow process,” said Reimnitz.
What is an important change needed at NDSU: “The climate … not just the weather but the passion for being a bison too,” said Reimnitz. “Campus pride is so important … we’re green and yellow,” said Presser.
What is your favorite feature about your running mate: “I like Reimnitz’s smile … it’s never not there,” said Presser. “I like Presser’s laugh because it’s genuine,” said Reimnitz.

How will public comment affect the relationships between student government and students: “Public comment has its advantages … there is always the possibility of abuse, but this will open the communication to student government,” said Little.
