Reimnitz/Presser win, pledge to fulfill promises

After waiting in anticipation, Josh Reimnitz and Clara Presser were very excited to hear their names announced April 4 as the winners of the NDSU student body election.

Reimnitz and Presser had to wait for all of the elected senators to be announced before the 2007-2008 student body president and vice president were revealed.

“It feels good,” presidential winner Reimnitz said.

Presser, the vice-presidential winner, said they are ready to fulfill their promises.

“I am very confident (about completing the promises.) Everything long-term we can start right away, and short term we can work to finish,” Reimnitz said.

Almost 2,000 votes were cast, with Reimnitz and Presser securing 1,181 of them.

Andrew Knox, Adam Little, Adam Montgomery and Frank Michael comprised the other two tickets running for the positions.

Each had their own comments on the winners.

“I had a lot of fun. I have been in campaigns for four years, and this is by far the most fun and exciting. I know Josh and Clara will do a good job,” Little said.

Knox said good luck to the candidates and to have fun next year.

“The process was long. It was fun and I got to meet a lot of great people,” Montgomery said. “The candidates that did win are my best friends. I feel great about them winning.”

Reimnitz and Presser will begin work in the fall and continue until the end of the spring semester.
