We may not all be scoring the winning touchdown or basket, performing the lead role in the school play, or even conquering the Dean’s List, but we are all still a part of the Bison family. Each and every student here is an important component to NDSU, so let’s learn more about the students gracing our campus

Kim Zubke is a senior majoring in apparel and textiles. Kim Zubke is a senior majoring in apparel and textiles.

Who: Kim Zubke, a native of Dickinson, N.D., is a 21-year-old senior majoring in apparel and textiles, with a minor in business. She serves as the Fashion, Apparel, and Business Organization’s (FABO) president and is an active member of Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU).

The details: Zubke originally joined FABO so she could network with individuals in the business and fashion industry, and the annual FABO fashion show was an instant attention-catcher for her.

She is also very involved with CRU, in which she serves as a Bible study leader. She said that CRU has been “a huge foundation for me in college because it has allowed me to meet lots of friends and share my faith.”

Just another regular student: Even with all of her on-campus activities, Zubke still finds time for her favorite hobbies and activities. As an avid traveler, she has journeyed to East Asia, Panama, the Bahamas and various locales in the U.S. She has also had the opportunity to travel for many mission trips. Zubke enjoys swing dancing and going shopping with others to help them find the perfect clothing.

Yeah, that just happened: Zubke acknowledges she has had some pretty embarrassing moments during college. One year after the Dance Marathon on campus, Zubke was driving home in the freshly fallen snow, and the snowplows hadn’t cleared the streets yet. She realized a little too late that although she thought she was driving on the street, she was actually on the sidewalk. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

The Fargo lifestyle: Zubke acknowledges that she is not a huge fan of Fargo’s cold weather, but she enjoys the uniqueness and genuineness of the Midwest lifestyle and people.
