Letter: Election complaint filed fairly
As students who have been at NDSU for a few years, we first would like to recognize that the current student presidential campaign has been one of the best issue-based campaigns we have seen.
We also would like to make it known that there are always going to be rumors about what each ticket stands for and what issues the candidates believe in. We believe it is in the best interest of the students to know the truth.
We want it to be acknowledged that the actions taken during the recent court hearings to uphold the complaint filed by the Miller/Mallett ticket were not intended to be a “a low blow” or to “degrade” the other ticket. The actions were not taken as a way to belittle the other ticket in any way or to give Adelman/Eiler a negative image on campus and in the election. The actions were taken to ensure both tickets held a fair election.
Melissa Mallett and Dante Miller are both honest members of the NDSU community, with a lot of experience with student government, the North Dakota Student Association and various other activities on campus. Their characters are definitely something that makes them strive for what is best for the students and the future of NDSU.
We hope to see a positive outcome of the election for both tickets. Please take the time to get informed before continuing with the rumors. There is an election debate at noon on March 28 in the Cul de Sac Lounge of the Memorial Union.
Don’t forget to vote April 4-5.
