To the Editor:

The proposed $70.000 bike-sharing program is wasteful of student fees. The school year runs from August to June. We’re lucky to be able to ride our bikes until December. From December to April, like this year, it’s mostly impossible to ride due to poorly cleared sidewalks and icy roads. Why spend so much money on a program that, in North Dakota, makes almost no sense weather-wise? It’s a waste of students’ money to spend so much on a program that will only benefit students for three or four months of the year, at best. The recommendation should be either to use the excess to make student fees for next year less expensive, or invest in a program that will benefit students year round.
