    Bison Volleyball Win, Still Eliminated from Conference Tournament

      The Bison Volleyball team went into their game Friday against South Dakota State needing a win and some help from other teams to get into The Summit League Tournament. NDSU got their win but the victory was bittersweet after hearing Kansas City also won, eliminating the Bison from the four-team tournament.

  • Volleyball Loses in 3 Sets, Playoffs Still on Horizon

      The NDSU volleyball team fell to South Dakota Sunday in a 25-9, 25-22 and 25-17 sweep, bringing their record to 11-16 overall and 7-8 in Summit League play. Making a match-high 18 digs for NDSU was Andrea Henning, while Megan Lambertson made 11 kills and Jenni Fassbender contributed 8 kills.

    The NDSU Bison volleyball team beat Kansas City in four games Friday at the Swinney Rec Center. NDSU’s Andrea Henning made 27 digs to lead the Bison to a 25-25, 25-23, 19-25, and then the Bison finished off the Kangaroos 25-19. Danielle Dombeck had a career-high 12 kills and hit .

    NDSU Falls to IPFW

    The NDSU volleyball team dropped another game leading up to the Summit League tournament Friday night against the first-place Fort Wayne 3-2. NDSU was in a three-way tie for fourth place with Oakland and South Dakota State, only a half match behind third-place Kansas City.

  • Oakland Edges Out NDSU in a Close One

    The Bison volleyball team put up a fight Friday against Oakland at the Benson Bunker Fieldhouse. It was a tightly contested match and each set went down to the wire. Throughout the game, Oakland made the plays they needed to in order to get the 3-1 win.

  • Bison Take It to Western Illinois

    The magic number was fourteen Saturday night in Macomb, Ill. Byrnn Joki and Megan Lambertson had 14 kills apiece and were the key parts to the NDSU 3-1 win over Western Illinois in a Summit League volleyball contest. The Bison won the first two sets, 25-22, 25-21, but then lost the third set 18-25, and rallied to finish off their opponent 25-19 in the final set.

  • Volleyball Falls to IUPUI

    The Bison women’s volleyball team dropped a 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21 loss against IUPUI Friday at The Jungle in Indianapolis. Beating NDSU for the second time in a row, IUPUI would improve to 15-8 on the season and 8-3 in Summit League play to stay within a half-game of Fort Wayne in first place.

    The NDSU volleyball team outlasted the Drake Bulldogs Monday night with a score of 3-1. The Bison top their well-matched opponent 25-21, 27-29, 25-21 and 25-23 in a defensive battle. Junior Danielle Dombeck made a career-high 20 digs for NDSU.  The Bison had a season-high 100 digs and held Drake to a .

    Bison Beat Mavericks in Women’s Volleyball

    The NDSU women’s volleyball team won in three games Saturday against the Omaha Mavericks at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. Carissa Whalen tied her career-high with 12 kills in the win, leading the Bison in 25-12, 25-18, 25-21 wins. The Bison have now won three straight Summit League games, improving their record to 8-12 overall and 5-4 in the league.

    Bison Women Sweep UND

    The last time the UND volleyball team won in Fargo was 1976. They put an end to that streak in front of a season-high crowd of 1,413 at the Bison Bunker Fieldhouse on Tuesday, sweeping the Bison in convincing fashion by scores of 25-19, 25-21, and 25-22.

    Bison Volleyball Beats Kansas City

    The NDSU Bison volleyball team beat the Kansas City in a total of four sets Saturday. Brynn Joki set the tone with 17 kills and the Bison made 13 1/2 blocks to bet their Summit League opponent. The Bison took the first two sets, 25-16, 25-20. UMKC came back with a 27-29 set win, but the Bison brought it all together in the fourth set to finish off the UMKC, with the score of 25-21.

    NDSU Women Sweep Coyotes

    With home-field advantage, the NDSU women’s volleyball team came away with a three-game sweep over South Dakota Friday at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. In the 25-16, 25-16, and 25-19 wins, NDSU produced a season-high .317 hitting percentage and a season-low 8 attacking errors.

  • Volleyball Drawn Against Oakland and IPFW

    NDSU vs. Oakland Last Friday, the Bison snapped a three-game losing streak against Oakland with a 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, and 25-18 win at the Athletics Center O’rena. This marks a win in Summit League play for NDSU volleyball, and Oakland drops to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the Summit League.

    Bison volleyball loses home opener

    The NDSU volleyball team’s home opener didn’t go as planned. The Bison looked sharp in the first set but Western Illinois battled back and shocked the home team with a 3-2 win in front of 1,173 at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. “They played well,” Bison coach Kari Thompson said on Western Illinois.

    The women’s volleyball team lost three sets to one against IUPUI on Saturday, marking their second straight loss in a Summit League home match at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. Winning the first set 21-25, the Bison dropped the next three with the final scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-23.

  • NDSU beats out Omaha in Summit League opener

    The NDSU Bison volleyball team won their first Summit League game against the Omaha Mavericks at the Sapp Fieldhouse in convincing fashion. The Bison swept the Mavericks in a much needed win after starting their season 3-7. The Bison got a huge spark from senior outside hitter Brynn Joki, who ended the day with 17 kills and 15 digs.

    If you thought losing Jennifer Lopez to injury would spell the end of NDSU volleyball's season success, think again. Lopez's replacement, redshirt freshman Jordan Kissman, has stepped in nicely. So nicely in fact, that she was named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in wins over Oral Roberts and Centenary.

    THE BISON BEST ’12-’13

    1 RECORD-SETTING ENROLLMENT Last fall NDSU officials reported yet another record of full-day enrollment of 14,319 students in undergraduate, professional and graduate programs. In the fall of 2011, first full-day enrollment was at 14,240 students. The 2012-2013 school year marks the seventh consecutive year that enrollment has increased at NDSU.

  • Initial Steps Begin for New Campus Aquatic Center

    New Facility to Open by 2018

    Plans are underway for the building of a new campus aquatic center. Its official proposal passed on April 11, 2013 with a 61% student majority and will be the first swimming facility that the school has had in five years. As a part of this year’s Student Body President Luke Brodeur and Vice President Jace Beehler’s original campaign platform, the reins of the project will be handed over to newly-elected President Robbie Lauf and Vice President Erik Diederich.

Inspired by the work of famed urban designer and community activist Candy Chang, who presented at this spring’s Beaux Arts Gala, these students in Don Faulkner’s fourth-year urban design architecture studio have installed a community outreach project in downtown Fargo.
