  • Kish, Sprenkle Grab Postseason Awards

    The NDSU wrestling team continued its successful season even after the season has ended. Head coach Roger Kish was awarded the Western Wrestling Conference Coach of the Year last Thursday and 125-pound All-American senior Trent Sprenkle nabbed the WWC Wrestler of the Year.

    4 Bison Get to NCAA Wrestling Championship

    Four NDSU wrestlers made it to the NCAA Wrestling Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. The two-time NCAA qualifier Mac Stoll had an early exit for the NCAA Wrestling Championships. He finished the tournament with two losses on Thursday. Mac Stoll’s career as a Bison comes to an end, but it wasn’t a disappointing career.

    The NDSU wrestling team did not flinch one bit when No. 24 Boise State strolled into the Bison Sports Arena for a Friday night dual. The Bison handled the Broncos, getting six match victories and a convincing 24-15 win.     Wrestling Team Starts Season

    The NDSU wrestling team hit the mat Saturday, hosting their 42nd annual Bison Open. Colligate wrestlers from Minnesota, Minnesota State Moorhead, Concordia and South Dakota State flooded the BSA for the daylong event. The Bison have enjoyed great success in the Open in the past and Saturday the success continued.

  • NDSU Wrestling Preview

    This year’s NDSU wrestling team’s members will look to build off the wins they were able to get last year. Last year, the Bison’s returning wresters went for a combined 309-186 while being 49-54 in duals. Last year’s members that are returning this season had a total 66 pins and will attempt to come out of this season with an even better total.

  • Birkel, Bison Ready for ‘12-13 Season

    Coming off back-to-back losing seasons, the NDSU women’s basketball team has their sight set on a successful 2012-13 campaign. The Bison experienced their worst season in the Summit League last year, finishing with an 8-10 record. Improvement is something the players and coaches are definitely expecting this winter.

    THE BISON BEST ’12-’13

    1 RECORD-SETTING ENROLLMENT Last fall NDSU officials reported yet another record of full-day enrollment of 14,319 students in undergraduate, professional and graduate programs. In the fall of 2011, first full-day enrollment was at 14,240 students. The 2012-2013 school year marks the seventh consecutive year that enrollment has increased at NDSU.

  • Initial Steps Begin for New Campus Aquatic Center

    New Facility to Open by 2018

    Plans are underway for the building of a new campus aquatic center. Its official proposal passed on April 11, 2013 with a 61% student majority and will be the first swimming facility that the school has had in five years. As a part of this year’s Student Body President Luke Brodeur and Vice President Jace Beehler’s original campaign platform, the reins of the project will be handed over to newly-elected President Robbie Lauf and Vice President Erik Diederich.

Armed with plywood, paint and chalk, Matt Fremstad, Katie Becker, Colby Judovsky, Brittany Taplin and Jeff Bauer have made it their mission to bring out the voice of the people. Inspired by the work of famed urban designer and community activist Candy Chang, who presented at this spring’s Beaux Arts Gala, these students in Don Faulkner’s fourth-year urban design architecture studio have installed a community outreach project in downtown Fargo.
